Arts Day

I went along to see the lighting of Robert Montgomery's poem on the Mound. Another fabulous piece of public art; I'm really enjoying a lot of the Art Festival already. Yes it is a bit lovey, but the artists and organisers are lovely. Nice chat with Ross Sinclair whose works are throughout the city, and I seem to have managed to get a couple of more buildings to fly the Hello work. Good exposure to senior management today as I was looking after the Perm Sec who we got to stand in at the launch of the festival as all the ministers were at a funeral. There may be something small, round and red on its way to him featuring an ex Soup Dragon.

Eldest in the morning to check for anaemia, and her body didn't like it, with her going down like a Hearts winger just as we got out of the surgery. Water, a quick check over by a nice doctor and a hot chocolate and she was fine to get on with her day, the last time she'll be at after school club. She may complain that she's the only S1 there (and she hasn't started quite yet) but she's lovely with the little ones, and the staff all appreciate her - a summer job on offer in the future if she wants it, apparently.

Art festival involved meeting parents of friends of both girls. Sometimes Edinburgh seems so small, but I prefer to think of it as a big village.
