Scenes from everyday life

Poor Design

Even though I buy an annual season ticket for the train, tube and bus, I always seem to have to replace it around this time of year.

Either the ink wears off the front and bus drivers won't accept it because they can't read the expiry date, or the magnetic strip gives out and I can't get through the barriers. Yesterday, the magnetic strip packed up.

Getting a replacement is straightforward enough but did involve wasting my lunchtime making a special trip to the station.

And the same thing will happen again next year.
