Still Rockin'

It Must Be Friday!

There's lots to do once you've acquired a new campervan because it's not just transport it's going to be your home for periods as well. So you have to get it sorted out to suit your needs and those needs are going to be different for every one of us. Also the things that fitted in your previous van aren't going to fit in your new one even if you haven't downsized as dramatically as we have. The crockery doesn't fit but fortunately we still have the stuff from our previous VW so that can go straight in once it's been through the dishwasher. There's less storage for pots and pans but we'll be doing less cooking anyway. Today's been a journey of adventure finding out all the little secrets that the new van holds. I've fitted bits and pieces like the sheepskin seat covers that are so lovely and warm weather in cold weather and nice and cool when it's hot. I've pulled the radio and fitted the gizmo that lets me play the iPod through it.

One thing we couldn't live with was the carpet in the living area. It was new but it had the kind of texture that would hold debris against the hoover and wouldn't do anything to deal with wet shoes, although we do our not to wear shoes inside. We set off for the carpet department at Trago Mills and searched for a rug of the right size and colour. We found one that was an ideal size for £21.79 which seemed like a good price. Some of the edge binding had come unravelled so we got it reduced to £18. Bargain!

Lady Marian has been doing a job of work on it cutting it to size and to shape and binding the edges and it's going to look lovely.

I was hoping to blip it for you tonight but with the edges all copydexed it needs a bit of time before we put it in. So that's why you've got a blip of my curry tonight. I've talked about it often enough and here it is served up and ready to eat. The biryani on the right is Lady Marian's and the Tikka Masala and the pint of lager on the left has my name on it!

Hope you've had a good day and are ready for the weekend.

David
