Butterflies and Buddleia

The weather today was forecast to be good this morning but raining sometime this afternoon, so we opted for an early earlyish walk by the River Thames at Lechlade.

The walk from Lechlade to Buscot lock and back is one of our favourites and has the advantage that it affords the opportunity for tea and cakes at Buscot Village Tearooms too.

Took this picture (and others too) of some of butterflies on the buddleia bushes by Buscot Lock while watching some of the boats pass through. Then a quick walk to the village only to find that the tearoom was shut due to a family bereavement. We were obviously disappointed, but understand why they are shut. So instead of elevenses here it was back to Lechlade for an early pub lunch by the river.

The rains came down as we got home mid afternoon, so we definitely made the right decision today.
