Mouse Man

Today we went to the village of Kilburn to see the work of Robert Thomson who was known as the Mouse Man. He was a self-taught wood carver. His trade mark was to carve a little mouse on every piece of furniture whatever its size from a little napkin ring to large pieces of furniture for Churches, Libraries or even now a days for offices in the heart of London. The company is now run by the fourth generation and employs about 20 craftsman who still use the skills of hand carving.
We were lucky enough to be given a cheese board as a wedding present 18 years ago and decided to buy this plate/dish to match it. I think it will look good with crackers and fruit in it to accompany the cheese on the cheese board
