Today is a new day...

An Turas (Journey)

This is an art installation at the ferry port in Tiree. It is a contemporary piece which won critical acclaim from artists and architects, but more than a little criticism from locals. I loved it. It is a long open roofed tunnel with a cube of windows which give framed views in three directions and upwards. I'm sure the effect and views would be gorgeous on a good day but as today was wild, my fab friend attempted a handstand to make it more interesting!

We caught the ferry to Oban today from Tiree. The waves were splashing (too nice a word) over the whole ferry as it approached us. We boarded to hear the captain utter words such as 'bad weather', 'considerable swell' as he reassured us of a safe passage!

Although there was an unrelenting wild wind in Tiree, the crossing was actually not as rough as we were imagining and about 4 hours later we arrived in sunny Oban.
