From My Everyday Life

Where's Waldo?

Actually, where's Jonah, my German Shepherd. He's had a tough few days. He's on Xanax to deal with anxiety that's partly age related, partly just his personality, and partly a result of treatment for canine lupus using Prednisone. He's been off the steroid for a couple weeks, because the side effects were so bad and it didn't do much for the lupus anyway. But the high levels of anxiety, obsessive behavior, etc., seems to be permanent. We're starting a new treatment using a cocktail of drugs, including doggy Prozac for the anxiety. In the meantime, we're giving him Xanax, planning to lower the dosage as the Prozac hopefully does its work.

On the Xanax, he loopy for a while, with balance issues kind of like a drunk; then he's good for while, relaxed but balanced and in control, and then as it wear's off, back to so anxious he's impossible to live with. Poor little man.

He's in a wired phase in this image. I'm sitting outside with him, watching him run around the yard like a maniac pouncing on his ball and batting it around. In the picture, he's settled down, just for a moment. Can you find Waldo?
