Ramblings and Mutterings

The House that Albert built

Another trip to London and the Proms, today it was Prom 28 with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra who played some wonderful masterpieces. First up was J.Strauss II’s Blue Danube, then a violin concerto by Scottish composer James MacMillan, and then after the interval a couple of pieces by the master himself Ludwig Van Beethoven, Overture ‘Coriolan’ and then finally the rousing Symphony No.5.

The last piece was amazing and credit must go to the orchestra and conductor Donald Runnicles, I must admit to being a big Mozart fan but after this performance I’m keen to learn and experience more of Beethoven’s music.

Of course all this takes place in one of the most wonderful places for music, the Royal Albert Hall. I love it!
