Straw Man or Mole?

This bizarre sight is found in a corner of the garden at Wordsworth's House, Cockermouth. At first sight you think it really is someone lying prone on the grass.

I awoke to heavy rain, so it was not until late morning that I ventured out. The fells were not the place to go today, so drove to Cockermouth and visited Wordsworth's birthplace. This middle class Georgian house was set out as Wordworth's father had it, including his office rooms. The walled garden is prolific - and the gardeners were offering out flowers to taste - the seed pod of radishes are very bitter and peas from a blue pea pod very sweet. The garden is laid out with flowers deliberately to attract the bees in - and this seems to work judging by the produce on the apple trees.
