Wagner

Today was a busy day:
- travel (First Class) to That There London
- grapple with the underground
- quick check-in and change at the hotel
- walk to the Royal Albert Hall
- walk around the outside of the RAH, looking for a way in
- Find way into RAH and enjoy a nice cuppa tea
- Wander outside again
- Stop and stare at the "Kensington Gore" street sign*
- Find way back in, through the correct door for the restaurant
- Enjoy an early dinner in the poshest restaurant in the RAH (it involved caviar and lobster and a very impressive bloody mary jelly
- Find way to our seats
- Grin like a loon at being at the Proms
- Enjoy Act 1 of Tannhauser
- Coffees back in posh restaurant
- Enjoy Act 2 of Tannhauser (now wishing I'd worn a thinner frock as it's hot)
- Cognacs back in restaurant
- Enjoy final act of Tannhauser
- Grin like a loon
- Walk back to hotel (cursing high heels)
- Restorative G&T
- Careful leaning out of open hotel window, trying to take a photo without dropping camera out of 16th story window. Whilst a bit tipsy.

*this will mean nothing, if like the friend I was with, you don't know your Hammer Horror history.

A brilliant day and evening with one of my oldest friends. Scarily expensive but fab.
