Anatole's blips

Dinner - pulled from the bay and onto the plate.

Atlantic Mackerel (Scomber scombrus)

The loch outside our window is simply teeming with life. All day the water has been rippling with fish, the gulls, cormorants, red and black-throated divers and herons have all been stuffing themselves silly.

So come the evening it was time for us to join in. At low tide I had collected some fry that had got caught in the weed, so they served as bait and the Mackerel were biting.

Yum, yum. There's nothing like a REALLY fresh barbecued mackerel.
