Fast Work

They replaced the worn out ties on one of the tracks using several of these small cars to distribute and move the new ties into place, then a big machine came along to punch out the old, as in croquet, and then whack in the new, simple as that. They had to work fast, too, because a lot of freight trains and a lot of oil trains thunder through here, all day long and all night long.
