Expanding Family!

Well, our wee Family is expanding rapidly! But its not all been smooth sailing.

At eight weeks a visit to Early Pregnancy Support resulted in an Ultra Sound Scan where we were told that it was not really a question of if 'A' would have a miss-carriage but when, as the baby had almost no amniotic fluid.

Queue weekly Scans and with each week and little more fluid and a little less pessimism but pessimism none the less.

Then at 12 weeks a change, the Radiographer said that if we had not told her the history she would not have commented on the fluid and that everything was perfect. Perfect? Perfect? Yes Perfect, you should go on to have a happy baby ..... there follows much head scratching and much optimism.

Short lived as it was .... 1 week later 'A' is admitted to Hospital and spent the next 3 days on hospital bed rest. She is now at home on a combination of strict Bed and Couch rest. How long that will need to last for is anyone's guess, we have another Scan on to asses progress and confirm if baby is stil happy on Monday. On our last scan baby was doing well and we were advised that the risk of a miscarriage is far from being the certainty we were originally told! So lots and lots of rest, finger crossing and praying.

So here she is resting with just some of our scan photos ....... and Radar!

Oh Radar, Are you mad taking on a Dog now? In Short, Yes! However we started looking for him and took him on when we though there was going to be a miscarriage, hence Radar would have arrived after the miscarriage and been a welcome distraction. So yes it's less than ideal, but he's great and we would not change him for the world and he is proving to be a very welcome distraction from a very stressful situation for all.
