But, then again . . . . .

I joined a few of the Bristle contingent of the CTC for a brief ride to Portishead. It was an interesting route, that is to say "why do one mile when half a dozen will serve equally well." The purpose is, after all, to expend enough energy to justify a visit to a cafe; I doubt if we achieved that but we visited the cafe anyway.

To give credit where it is due, the teacake and coffee were very good and the cost was quite modest but, what is wrong with a plate? I had already heard of pretentious establishments serving food on pieces of slate, but this one’s raison d’etre is to provide refreshments to the clientele of the adjoining swimming pool.

The route back home was also interesting.
