Farm Track Late Winter

At last I made it to Christchurch to do my shopping, the first time in a month. I didn't do much because I needed to come home to cart and chop wood to replenish my veranda stock. According to the forecast our three week run of mild weather is about to end.

On the way home I stopped to get a shot for my occasional series of the farm track. As you can see there is not much snow on the mountains. They are usually well clad at this time of winter. The willows are still bare, but there are wisps of blossom beside the track. Below, out of shot, were ewes with newborn lambs, and the inevitable black backed gull circling low, hoping to clean up.

Others in the series.
