Kitted Sheets
My Dear Princess and Dear Fellow,
DG and Crashy tend to spend all day in the spare bedroom.
And this makes it difficult to do things like change bedsheets because there is ALWAYS A CAT.
However, this morning both the hairy little people went out, so I seized the day. And the bedsheets.
I had stripped the bed and put on the fitted sheet when...
"Hello! I'm here now!" said DG. Sitting in the middle of the bed.
I tried to put the top sheet on around her. She was immoveable. I did the best I could to arrange it around her. She purred happily.
Then I tried to change the duvet cover. A difficult enough task at the best of times, but it's a small bedroom and you NEED to be able to use the bed.
DG smiled at me.
"Fine," I told her. "I'll go and do it in the upstairs bedroom."
"You do that," she said, blinking happily at me.
So I went upstairs to change the duvet cover.
"Hello! I'm here now!" said Punky, trying to climb inside the duvet cover as I changed it.
I did my best to change the duvet cover without trapping Punky inside forever. Fortunately for me, he is a nervier little fellow and scampered away as I did up the buttons.
When I got back downstairs, DG was very happy on her new clean sheets. She was now on top of the top sheet, so I was able to pull it into position with her still on top.
"Hee hee! This is fun!" she said, being pulled this way and that.
I tried to put the duvet on the bed. But DG was not having it. She did not move.
In the end I put the duvet ON TOP of her.
"AAAAAAARGH!" she said, and came scrambling out. "How DARE you!" she told me. And went out of the window.
From there, changing the bedding was much easier, but I have to say I did not do a great job. Working around DG and Punky, the top sheet was wonky and the duvet cover off-centre from having a cat in it.
When Caro gets home tomorrow, she will find a lovely fresh bed. Kind of. Sort of. That is, I tried.
Let us just hope we do not find a dead mouse in it.
