A 100-year-old tree for my 100th blip

This is one of the plane trees which is threatened with being removed to make way for road 'improvements'. It seems now that, because of the huge outcry against the felling of over 50 trees, half of them may be saved. They were planted at least a hundred years ago and are healthy trees, so the more that can be saved the better - for the trees, for the environment, for the shade on the road and for the memories of older people in the village.
