The Rehydration Crew
It's been a trying 2 days here.
There was a training course yesterday and it caused me more than a little stress. Stress didn't let me sleep and nudged me awake at 3am - "How do you fancy 30 minutes of throwing up?" Not that there was a choice in the matter.
Up nice and early to go and catch the bus. That wasn't the problem, the problem was my fellow passengers - schoolchildren. They are incapable of sitting quietly.
And then there was the building where the training course was taking place itself. All my favourite things - glass sided walkways over big drops, glass elevators and gappy staircases with glass sides All in all it had been designed to freak me out and it worked.
Then the training course. By 2pm my brain was full and the next 3 hours were absolute stress. It was meant to end at 5 but ran on another 20 minutes.
Got the first bus available and after the 2nd bus walked the 2 km to home. It was 7pm more than 12 hours after getting the first bus of the day. Shattered.
Then after sitting quietly for half an hour - stomach churned and my mouth watered and so started round 2 of throwing up. Wrecked all the muscles in my stomach and neck.
Decided bed was the right place for me and managed 2 hours sleep. Then woke up and spent the rest of the night trying to stay hydrated - difficult when you have to get up every 15 minutes for a pee. And then for a special treat - another round of vomiting at just 4am. Absolutely nothing in my stomach except a little water.
No surprise that the training course was not blessed with my presence today. It'll take a lot of rest to recover.
