The Wheat Field

Adjacent to John Webb's Windmill, Thaxted.

Today we visited Thaxted for a cream tea and stroll around the village. This wheat field is adjacent to John Webb's Windmill, erected in 1804 and the last remaining windmill in Thaxted. Restoration to a derelict mill began, in stages, in 1970 and today it is open to the public as a rural museum and can be considered a working mill capable once again of grinding grain into flour.
