Moody Maputo skies greeted us as we stepped out of the office, taking advantage of the standard shorter working day on Fridays.

I spent an enjoyable evening with the Director of our Mozambique office, during which we covered life, work and all that sails within. I find my experiences with colleagues in Mozambique much less complicated than the dynamics in our Tanzania office, so it was validating to hear the director’s feedback and to be treated as one of the team even though I am only able to be in Mozambique a minority of the time. Although I am set on a break at the end of my contract rather than trying to negotiate an official relocation back to Mozambique, I am very open to living in Maputo in the future. It’s lush.
