Postman's Park

I find fish ponds relaxing to look at. This one is in the City of London, not far from St Paul's, in a little green space called Postman's Park. There is a wall commemorating acts of heroic self sacrifice - where people died saving or trying to save others. Most of the stories on it date back to the late 19th or early 20th century but there is one from 2007 that has been added. It is fascinating but slightly morbid as all of the stories end with "he/she sadly passed away" so it makes me want a happy ending that never comes.

It's also an old graveyard so there are gravestones piled against the walls surrounding the park which is odd. It's still a nice place for a lunchtime walk though.
