Young Rewired State

A fascinating afternoon at the Custard Factory in Birmingham (they really made Birds custard there) where an astonishing group of young people are spending a week writing code in a atmosphere of ideas, pizza, free ice cream and teamwork.

I gave a short talk on Five Big Questions about Robots, and was delighted to be cornered by several very thoughtful and well informed people afterwards. Also delighted that someone aged perhaps 10 knew exactly what the Turing Test was and why it is interesting.

Certain former colleagues will understand why I mentioned the danger of leaving unidentified laptop bags in corridors, and the impact of robots sent to look at them.

Odd area, Digbeth High Street - the Police station is boarded up.
