Waiting can be hard

I love the bird bath in my garden and I love the visitors to it even more. The problem is they can be a bit flighty - literally!

I wait and wait and wait to try and get a decent photo, and then just like today the photo isn't quite what I was hoping for, so I go back to waiting.

I'm not a very patient person when it comes to waiting and I have to work hard at resting rather than wrestling. But I know that good things come to those who wait.

Another little gem from the book of Proverbs says:

Hope deferred makes the heart sick,
    but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life.

May we all experience the joy of a longing fulfilled and knowing it was worth the wait, as we rest in the shade of the tree of life.
