The Domtoren

Today was our last day in Utrecht.  With an early evening departure we had time for some last minute sightseeing this morning.

We walked down to the Domplein first thing, it is the heartbeat of the city.  The Domtower which dominates the plein is 367’ high!  You can climb up 465 steps to the viewing platform.  Mrs CBL told me that going up there was ‘a step too far’ for us these days so we kept our feet firmly planted in the ground.  Actually it was 465 step
s too far!

We have thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Utrecht, with the side tour of Amsterdam included, it is a city which has much to offer discerning travellers.  Steeped in history with lots to see, do and enjoy and best of all the sun shone warmly every day :-)
