Looking After the Moor

Walking along Byron Edge at the top of Cragg Vale, Hebden Bridge and came across the 'Moors for the Future Partnership' who were loading up tons and tons of lime and fertiliser to spread over the degarded moorland of Turley Holes Moor, Cragg Vale.
The only practical way to do this is by using a helicopter to get the stuff to where it needs to be spread.
They were really well organised - the round trip for each hopper was about six minutes and the helicopter was working seven hours non-stop. That's getting a lot of lime and fertiliser on to the moor.
