Compare

In our artclass we mostly get a painting to copy and the teacher tells very precisely which colors to use, which steps to take first. The top painting was made by a teenager , maybe 16? It is my favorite although I would have taken out a couple of stones on the right side. The bottom left was the painting of the teacher and there are several things that I don’t like, starting with the color of the ocean , the waves and the lightning in the sky. The bottom right is my approach and there are several things I will work on again once it is dry ( this is oil paint). The light tower needs some details and corrections, the rock on the left needs some work and the wave water color at the bottom is too white. Suggestions welcome.
