A new experience...

... attending a planning enquiry.
Although we were only there as "interested parties" (ie. residents whose lives would be seriously affected if the project in question were to get planning permission), it has been a very stressy week.
We have been there every day, listening to the ponderous arguments of the barristers on both sides. I find the gulf between common sense and the law to be extremely frustrating at times.
This issue has been hanging over us for seven years now. I do hope this inquiry will finally bring it to an end.
