At Picton where state highway one goes from land to sea, joining South Island to the North Island (N.Z.). Docking is the government owned inter-islander ferry which has had much discussion about the upgrading / replacement.  Behind is the privately owned Bluebridge ferry. A busy place being at the end of the scenic Marlborough Sounds.
