Maisie Moo’s Mission
Today was a special blood donation session at All Saints Catholic College in Dukinfield. Maisie Almond was 14y old and last October she complained of stomach pains. After tests it was found she had liver failure. A liver was found for her, but sadly she was so poorly she died the day after it was found. Her parents, Kathryn and Stuart, have set up a registered charity, Maisie Moo’s Mission, to raise awareness of blood donations and transplants and to help disadvantaged children. They want to keep her ‘light shining’. Out of tragedy there is an amazing legacy.
There were friends and family donating and teachers who taught Maisie. Some students also donated. It was an emotional day but her parents (pictured) were thrilled at the response.
It was a good day and the number of new donors exceeded the regulars, hopefully they will return.
