WHAT A WONDERFUL ENCOUNTER AT JACK'S
I’m beginning to feel that I need to “spread my wings” a little after being at home for so long, so when Mr. HCB suggested that we go to Jack’s this morning for a coffee, I was definitely up for it. We loaded the boot with lots of paraphernalia for DEBRA, our favourite charity shop and off we went.
However, the car park at the rear was full, so Mr. HCB dropped me off so that I wouldn’t have to walk too far and then went to park the car in another car park - he is such a treasure. Interestingly, as I haven’t been drinking that much coffee lately, when mine came, the smell made me feel a bit nauseous, but I gave myself a good talking to and after a while, felt I could drink it and enjoyed it.
I had intended using just the shot of Aimee and Jane, two of the lovely waitresses, for a WidWed shot, but then the fella, whose name I found out was Alex, came in and I couldn’t miss taking a shot of him - he was like a big teddy bear! Ewll I took several shots of him and then he hugged me and when Jane told him I took photographs and put them online, he said how pleased he was to meet me etc etc. I did tell him my husband was sitting just near, so he then went and grabbed Mr. HCB’s hand, shook it and said how pleased he was to meet him too. What a character and what amazing tattoos he was sporting, which just proves that we should never judge someone who doesn’t fit into our mould!
So, instead of just Aimee and Jane, you have Alex and Aimee and then Alex and Mr. HCB - “little and large”! Just wish I had taken a selfie with Alex!
As I said, Alex was quite a character, so friendly and open, and it so reminded me of a quote I read fairly recently, and which is so true:
“Sometimes the nicest people you meet
are covered with tattoos
and sometimes the most judgemental people
you meet go to church on Sunday.”
O Lord, during this Holy Week, keep reminding me of the verses in the Bible that say:
“Don’t criticise people, and you will not be criticised.
For you will be judged by the way you criticise others,
and the measure you give will be the measure you receive...
...Treat other people exactly as you would like to be treated by them -
this is the essence of all true religion.”

After we finished our coffee, we did to into DEBRA; it was lovely to see Sarah, the Manager, who said she had wondered why we hadn’t been in - and of course, we did buy one or two things - but gifts for friends, so they won’t be “cluttering up” our house!
P.S. Thank you so much for all your kind comments, Happy Birthday wishes and all the stars and hearts in honour of Mr. HCB’s birthday - he was delighted so I told him that he is well loved by the Blip Community - and me, of course! ;-) M xx
