Nourishing Lunch
Dear O'H dear, Lovely Tea Jenny and The Youngest Mini Princess,
The Explorer organised a lunch for herself, Songbird (her sister), Mrs B, Melissa and me today. To be honest I had mixed feelings about going as although I adore The Explorer, our friendship has been complicated over the last few years.
But my trepidation quickly melted quickly. The Explorer was on great form, Songbird is always a joy and there was the very nice surprise of Alicia, my goddaughter, being there too. She is a young woman now and properly funny. We had a couple of moments across the table of catching each other’s eye and knowing we were Thu king the same thing which made me giggle.
It’s the first time I’ve seen Mrs B since Mr B’s funeral. We reminisced and laughed about holidays we’ve been on as families and silly drunken nights together. She’s a person who radiates warmth even when speaking about her grief with openness, honesty and vulnerability and I could have sat in her company all night.
I called The Eldest Mini Princess who came and joined us for the last couple of hours. The Explorer and I were looking at our beautiful daughters with their manes of gorgeous hair and laughing that they used to be little baldy babies!
