Before the showers
A more traditional April day with bright sunshine first thing, mid morning showers and a biting wind. First thing the sky above was ridiculously brilliantly blue. The oaks are bursting into leaf, the colours are hyper-bright and the grass has obviously loved the recent rain. The ornamental crab apple is out.
I worked at home today, up in the barn but a lot of people are away pre-Easter so I didn’t get a huge amount done. A turn down from a big broadcaster on a show of mine I have hopes for. Sad.
Made a Greek salad at lunch until I opened the box of feta and discovered it had been opened a while ago and there was only a nub left. So i beat herbs into ricotta and had it with that instead.
The fugitive cows appear to be rounded up and are in the far field, presumably coming back to ‘’our’ field when they know how to behave. Lane rumour has it one got as far as Guildford but I need to verification on that.
V cooked liver and onions for dinner from a New York Times recipe and it was darn good. We watched the first episode of The Leopard on Netflix, made by a British company and team - how did they get that gig? - it was ridiculously lush and lovely and is obviously going to be a treat for all six episodes.
