Seeing Beyond Looking

Cultural Outing

A lovely cultural outing took me to a place above the city called la Fondatrion de l'Hermitage. The art exhibitions held there are in a beautiful stately home converted into a museum. It's set in a very beautiful park overlooking the lake. It was not possible to walk in the lovely grounds because of the rain.

The main photo shows the poster representing the present art exhibition of the Neo Impressionism style. It was painted byFrench artist Gustave Caillebott (Paris, 1848 -1894).

Neo-Impressionism, led by Georges Seurat, focused on a more scientific and precise approach to colour and light, often employing the technique of pointillism.

Extra:
Some beautiful examples of pointillism. I particularly like the Lady with a Violin by Théo Van Rysselberghe.

The our group had lunch in the adjoining café and enjoyed some social interaction!
