Musselburgh (very low tide)
A family day out to Musselburgh was planned for today. It was wet to start with but got much sunnier as the day went on. We admired the harbour, and then walked up to The Lagoons to see if there were any birds around. Most of the birds were off nesting but we enjoyed seeing many swans-there was one swans nest on the grass with an egg in it but we couldn't see how it was going to survive, Red Shanks, a few curlews and lots of gulls.
We took a new route back which took us past 5 new bird hides, and lots of tree planting and general habitat diversification, we were impressed.
Then a late lunch at Weatherspoons in Musselburgh, its in an old cinema and is pretty good.
Later on went up to Liberton to visit a friend.
The extras are of some swans in flight and the path leading to the bird hides.
