Unexpected

The amount of snow we had overnight was unexpected. Footpaths and roads are closed due to the weight of snow on trees already laden with leaves. Avalanches are expected, the river is in full flood and the schools in Valais closed today. We didn’t have anything like as much snow as they did further up the Rhone valley and many areas are cut off.
