Old friend of the family

We took an old friend of my parents out to lunch today. He and his (now deceased) wife were my parents’ best friends as young couples in France. And they stayed in touch closely after he moved his family to Denver in Colorado.

He and his wife were part of my earliest memories as a kid :). He is now 91 and getting weaker but his character is still there and his laugh still as contagious as always.
