Shackleton’s Cross
Not a great photo but an amazing piece of polar exploration history. The actual cross that stood above the grave of Ernest Shackleton on the island of South Georgia from when he was buried there in 1922 till it was removed in 2018 due to weather damage. It now stands in Discovery Point in Dundee as part of the polar exploration displays. A new replica cross now stands at Shackleton’s grave site.
