Herstmonceux castle

Went for a 5.3 mile run first thing and it felt ok even with a couple of steep hills thrown in. After a leisurely morning following that, we drove round to the castle entrance rather than walk down the road, as we needed to buy tickets for M&S, and then we walked round the gardens and grounds. It was sunny and although the cold wind was still there it was pleasant when we could shelter from it.
R and I walked back with Fifi while M&S went to the shops in the car.
In the evening we went to the Brewers and then to the Indian. Interesting chat with the family there. One of the sons is now running the restaurant but Dad was there as they needed extra support in the kitchen. Dad said that in his semi retirement he wants to get back into film making. Apparently he has made a few films here and in Bangladesh, and he showed us some of the names on his phone. All these years we have known them without knowing that.
