Early Morning Flights

For the second morning running, I (Chris) was up and about to catch the 6am mass flight of balloons at the Bristol Balloon Fiesta. This morning Annie joined me and after yesterday's two attempts at shooting from above the Clifton Suspension Bridge, we selected a different viewpoint, closer to the hotel (and as it turned out closer to the balloons), just across the water from the docked S.S. Great Britain. Frustratingly the clouds weren't being kind but they did break leaving a sight of balloons basking in the morning sunshine.

Annie was working, supporting a major IT release. With an expectant and hungry cat awaiting my return, I set off back up the M4 home whilst Annie went into the office. Following a successful delivery (at least for Annie's bit), she had a few hours of daylight to go Gromit hunting once again. She picked off some of those located a bit further afield this evening (including Bristol Airport and Cheddar Gorge). The current total seen stands at 41, that's more than half of them so far.

Thanks so much for all the views and comments on the night balloon shot yesterday. I did get very wet walking back from the display (with no coat or brolly) but at least my camera bag has a waterproof cover!!
