Unusual visitor
A Nanday Parakeet visited our Feeder again!
When entering this sighting into my Project Feeder watch tally, I was asked to confirm it because this an unusual bird to visit feeders. We have been very excited to see these birds come to our feeders 4 times since we put 2 feeders out in December.
In February I participated in the annual Global Bird Count: The Great Backyard Bird Count and was one of 838,113 from all over the world who counted over 8000 bird species they saw during a 4 day period.
Currently, I am participating in Project Feeder Watch which runs from November 1 - April 29 in North America. Both projects use the data collected to document and understand the distribution and abundance of birds. I do it to learn more about birds and to relax and practice mindfulness... I never watched birds as much as I do now and really enjoy it. Living on the Braden River does bring advantages to seeing birds...
