The Robot Crack'd From Side To Side

Yes it's the return of my very occasional robot series - I just thought it was time to reinvigorate my mechanoid based concatenation.
Today's title is paraphrased from the name of an Agatha Christie novel and just popped into my head because this poor guy has suffered a similar misfortune (which I have spared you in full as he has been somewhat slapdashedly glued back together - although if you look closely enough you can still detect one of the hairline cracks at the bottom of my image).
Neither can I promise you the labyrinthine plot features of Ms Christie's novel of the nearly identical name - which even without the requisite murders manages to include a spiked Daiquiri, an atomiser used for hay fever poisoned with cyanide, autograph hunting in Bermuda, a fete in honour of St John's Ambulance, German measles and a nervous breakdown. In fact the only conundrum I have around my cracked (or should that be crack'd) automaton is did he fall or was he pushed? :-)
One rather churlish review of the The Mirror Crack'd From Side to Side when it was first published in 1962 liked "the brilliant little peg" on which the author had hung her plot but found that "one could accept a single coincidence ..[but] that the second and quite improbable one tends to destroy faith in the story...still more so since it leads nowhere at all".
I'm not sure a broken ceramic robot is a brilliant little peg on which I have hung my blip (I've tried to rather unsuccessfully hide this fact by adding a 'jazzy' background) but I think we can all agree it doesn't actually lead anywhere at all! :-)
