'Sorting Out the Results'

Today's blip is of Susan, the Run Director at Edinburgh parkrun today, sorting out the results with one of the volunteers. 

parkrun had the special theme of 'walking' today. Walkers are encouraged at parkrun, and parkrun UK has just started a campaign to get more walkers to come along - all part of an effort to make parkrun more inclusive and less intimidating to potential newcomers. 

So today, for the first time, there was a new parkwalk banner - 'parkwalk - let's walk' - on display and new vests for 'parkwalkers' - the volunteers who accompany and encourage walkers. (see extras)

I had thought that today's parkrun would be a bit of an anticlimax for me after last week's milestone, as we set off with a relentlessly biting easterly wind to contend with on the way out that made my progress even slower than usual. Of course, that did mean that there was an equally relentless biting easterly wind behind me on the way back! The result - I felt like I was flying and had my best time since last September! 

All the same, I was still slower than quite a few of the walkers, but as I mentioned last week, it's not really about times anymore.
