What's in a Name ? ....

Currant or Plain.  
Whatever your choice - these are teacakes ..... not barm cakes, or bread-cakes, baps, buns, muffins, cobs or rolls.  
I acknowledge that in other parts of the UK they are known by other names but in the Upper Calder Valley they are teacakes - white, brown or currant. There are other variations available, wholemeal, malted etc - but these are the core varieties..... :-)  :-)
