Parked in South Street.

My wife was at the dry cleaners and we were short of time today, so no walk around St Andrews.

The lime trees of South Street are a fine and notable feature. Many were planted in the 1800s when the street was developed. The Canmore archive contains SCRAN records; a photograph from the University of St Andrews collection in 1881 shows the South Street trees were well established then. Some are in need of replacement; there’s been objection more than once to wholesale replacement. Quite right too.
