First train of the day
I went over to Sheringham this morning for a little bit of shopping and called in at the railway for a look. There is a 'Spring Steam' event on at the moment so there were actually three steam engines in view when I took this shot; one behind me on this platform and another on the far side of the bridge ahead waiting to back in for its train. I may well try to get a shot over the weekend with more than one in view, although I'm not sure at the moment where to go for that.
This one is 'Royal Norfolk Regiment'. This and similar engines were built by the Ministry of Supply in the early 1940's and whilst some stayed in the UK many were sent out to the Middle East. This particular one was sent to Greece after the war and spent the remainder of its working life there, being repatriated to the UK in 1984 after it had retired from service.
