Super Seven
The girls have all booked on the Greater Manchester Swim in May, today they had their introduction to swimming in the Quays in preparation. They were nervous as it was straight into deep water, unlike Redbrook. Louise has only done a few minutes and she said she was really anxious. Well, we all left the Quays with huge smiles. I knew they could do it with a bit of pushing and they smashed it. Louise got in and controlled her breathing and I ‘told’ her to swim to the first buoy and round to the next. It was the furthest she’s done and she was so proud of herself and was talking about going further time. The course was set up for 500m and the rest of us swam it. Everyone was so pleased with themselves. The temperature is improving each week and it felt lovely today.
There were students from media city uni doing interviews and filming so we all went along to support them. It was great fun. What a successful swim.
A lovely afternoon tea and Easter treats at Ellen’s with Pat this afternoon. Isobel called in with her boyfriend, Dan. The last time I saw him he was 5y old in my class…he’s a bit taller now and sporting a beard. It was so funny as he said he just couldn’t call me Belinda he kept calling me Miss Hastie….hilarious. They are such a lovely couple.
