Over Yonder

There Is Always A Cat

My Dear Princess and Dear Fellow,

There is a rule in our house.

THERE IS ALWAYS A CAT

What this means is that whenever you are trying to do anything - make dinner, pay bills, take out the rubbish, do the laundry - you can't because

THERE IS ALWAYS A CAT

A cat in the way. Wanting cuddles. Wanting fed. Wanting to steal YOUR dinner or wanting your seat.

And because me and Caro are the people we are, the cat always gets what he wants first.

Today Caro's breakfast was delayed because Punky managed to escape out of our garden after the wind blew all of the Punky-baffles off the tree.

Caro reattached the baffles while I made her a bagel.

But then she couldn't eat it because Jasper wanted a brush. And then she had to do laundry because the cat-blankets were covered in hair. But Caro couldn't do the laundry because Punky was asleep in the garage and she didn't want to wake him.

It has been like this all day. I made Caro Spanish potatoes and chicken but all she got was potatoes because Punky. Then Crashy.

THERE IS ALWAYS A CAT.

S.
