Happy Easter everyone!
This is the Bramley Apple tree which Stephen planted two years ago now, and replaced the oldest apple tree, which was over 40 years old and had begun to decay.
We had 6 cooking apples from it last year!
Earlier this morning we went to our Birmingham Vineyard Church for the Easter Day service.
This morning there were 9 Adult Baptisms by immersion in the small pool at the front of the church.
The pool is filled for the occasion, and normally hidden under removable boards, over which the carpet covering is also taken off.
They were mostly young Iranian men, and three young Iranian women, who had moved here having left their own country. Two others were Indian.
Our services are now translated into Farsi, and also Cantonese, there being a sizeable group of them as well.
The talks are printed out in both languages each Sunday.
It was such a joyous exuberant uplifting occasion. I love Easter Day!
All nine of them spoke of their reasons for wanting to be baptised and brief accounts of how they came to be in this country in the first place.
The baptisms are usually filmed but this morning due to certain aspects of their individual security no photos and videos were allowed.
It was so moving listening to them, it brought tears to my eyes.
We are off round to the family’s shortly to take the grandchildren their Easter eggs and have Hot Cross Buns and buffet tea.
At the moment we are both sitting in the summerhouse with mugs of tea enjoying the glorious sunshine. Although it is a chilly day.
The trees are beginning to look their best in their newly unfurled leaves.
Most of the old oaks across the road in the school grounds are now fully out.
Everything fresh and new.
Earlier I had walked up here from the house down the garden, before realising I hadn’t got my crutch with me!
Another step forward in my recovery!
But I went back again and got it.,
I still need to be really careful.
Hope the sun is shining wherever whatever you happen to be doing.
