Barbican for Yann Tiersen
An early start as the trains were messed up from Downham Market, which meant we had to get to Norwich first, parked up near my daughter's flat, then walked to get the train from Norwich to Liverpool Street. A longer trip, but quietish train. Central London, Baker St for Daunts, Wallace Collection, lunch and evening meal and South Bank strolls, BFI, pro-Palestine protest closing London Bridge; all of interest then to the Barbican to see the Breton composer Yann Tiersen. Attended a Q&A he gave first, which was interesting as he talked about his work with Earth Percent. Then an excellent concert by Yann - solo piano and then glitchy analogue electronica. As it finished, we had fifteen minutes to get out of the venue and get to Liverpool St. Station. We made it with 30 seconds to spare therefore saving an hour... rewarded myself with a can of beer. Back in Norwich we still had to walk across the city and then drive back to my quiet Norfolk village... an excellent varied day... making the most of the Easter break.
