Renewing
The National Trust is keen on blossom this Spring, and there plenty of suggestions for blossom related activities on its website. One of them is for meditation under a tree, so here I am , not meditating in the strict sense, but having a quiet and thoughtful time beneath the boughs of the cherry tree in our front garden. I noticed that where the trunk split many years ago, a new side shoot is growing up. There are also two sycamore seedlings. The blue rope was put there by children (now) adults) who used to enjoy climbing up it. The rope is now a part of the tree, grown into its trunk.
This has been such a blessedly quiet weekend, as the bulldozers which have been moving earth in the field in front of our house for over a month now have fallen silent. I did spoil the quiet with an hour and a half of lawn mowing this afternoon, but it had to be done as this glorious Easter sunshine will not last.
There was also a lovely walk in the forest with much stick throwing :-)
